There are three places that students can easily find scholarship opportunities without looking any further than Ohio State. The first is the opportunity to apply for university based scholarships. The next are scholarships provided by the College of Food Agricultural and Environmental Sciences. The Department of Food Science and Technology is your third place for scholarship opportunities. When applying for scholarships through the College a student would be automatically considered for scholarships in the department as well.

This past year, the department awarded over
$274,000 in scholarships to 66 undergraduate students.
There are also scholarship opportunities through a number of external organizations that make awards annually to students studying the food industry.
Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) Scholarships: IFT’s foundation, Feeding Tomorrow, offers a variety of academic tuition scholarships. Undergraduate students who have a GPA of at least 3.0 and major in Food Science are competitive to apply. These scholarships typically open in December and close in March.
Each year we take time to celebrate our scholarship recipients with a scholarship dinner and celebration. This celebration includes faculty, staff, and students of the Food Science and Technology department featuring a welcome reception, full dinner, and speakers from the department.
