Yutong Li named Elwood Caldwell Graduate Fellow

Congratulations to Yutong Li, a PhD student in the Department of Food Science and Technology at The Ohio State University, for being selected as the 2022 recipient of the Dr. Elwood F. Caldwell Graduate Fellowship. The fellowship is awarded to one recipient each year through Feeding Tomorrow, the official Foundation of the Institute of Food Technologists (IFT) and amounts to over $24,000. The selection committee determined that Yutong’s application materials with cutting-edge clinical and animal studies on food and drug intervention of gut microbiota and host health   “met the criteria of Dr. Caldwell’s legacy in exceptional ways”.
Established in 2021, the fellowship was created through a $1M IFT Fellowbequest from Dr. Caldwell and supports graduate and doctoral students pursuing research that addresses the current and future needs and demands of the global food system. Yutong Li is advised by Dr. Hua Wang.
