Registration Open for OVIFT Symposium

Registration is now open for the 5th OVIFT Symposium. This year's topic is "Trends in Food: Novel Technologies for Safe and High Quality Foods". The symposium takes place on Monday, March 17, 2014 and will be held at the Nationwide and Ohio Farm Bureau 4-H Center from 9:00 am – 4:30 pm. You can register at

Keynote speakers for this year’s symposium are OSU Professor Dr. Sudhir Sastry, Wornick Foods Process Engineering and Technology Manager Matt Beam, and OSU FST Professor Dr. Balasubramaniam.

In addition, there will be a student poster competition. Abstracts (no more than 300 words) are now being accepted for the competition and this year there is $1800.00 in prize money to be awarded. There will be at least 2 categories.  We encourage all graduate AND undergraduate students to submit, and the categories will be broken down by PhD, MS, and undergrads, depending on the number of submissions from each group.  Please submit your abstracts to by Wednesday, March 12th.
