News article: Pohlschneider named Drake Institute Affiliate Member

Dr. Mary Kay Pohlschneider has been named a member of the 2024 Drake Institute Affiliate Program. Pohlschneider serves as an Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in the Department of Food Science and Technology. In addition to teaching several undergraduate courses, she advises undergraduate students, oversees the student internship requirement, and serves as the advisor to the department’s Food Science Club.

Congratulations to Food Science and Technology Senior Lecturer Dr. Mary Kay Pohlschneider on receiving the 2022 National Teaching and Student Engagement award, which “celebrates university faculty for their use of innovative teaching methods and service to students.” She was honored with three other awardees from the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) by the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU). Pohlschneider has been a lecturer in the department since 2008.

Congratulations to Senior Lecturer Dr. Mary Kay Pohlschneider who was recently honored with the Provost’s Award for Distinguished Teaching by a Lecturer. She was surprised during the department’s spring semester’s virtual graduation party for FST students. She received the honor from guests OSU Executive Vice President and Provost Dr. Bruce McPheron, Senior Vice Provost Dr. Kay Wolf, and CFAES Associate Dean for Faculty and Staff Affairs Dr. Tracy Kitchel.
