Once again, graduating FST students have been given an opportunity to share with us some of their favorite memories of their time at Ohio State in this special edition newsletter. Many also took the opportunity to give a shoutout to those that supported them, befriended them, and helped make the journey one to remember.
Congratulations to all the students from the Department of Food Science and Technology who have graduated this semester. We are proud of all that you have accomplished and hope that you will stay connected. Mostafa Ali – Mostafa received a master’s degree and plans to continue to get a PhD. He is advised by Dr. Ahmed Yousef.
Laura Castellanos – I’d say it’s a collection of moments. It’s the smell of coffee in the office while we worked and supported each other through our academic journeys. It’s sharing trips and experiences with friends from so many different cultures who have truly become like family. It’s that, combined with the contagious Buckeye spirit and the joy of discovering the campus, that makes it special. Laura received a master’s degree and plans to continue to get a PhD. She is advised by Dr. Osvaldo Campanella.
Indrakshi Ghosh – To me, studying abroad as a first international student from family and able to learn so much more about Food science is extremely applauding. I enjoyed serving as a GSAC member, peer advisor, and Food science Club Treasurer for a 1-year term. The best moments on campus were curating snapshots captured through photography as beautiful they look. I am extremely grateful to the faculty members, friends, and the administrative staff for their constant support! Indrakshi received a master’s degree and was advised by Dr. Emanuel Hatzakis
Celeste Miller – My favorite memories as a graduate student are traveling to ADSA with my lab mates. I was able to attend the conference for two years and explore a new city each time. Some of my other favorite memories are meeting with Dr. Jimenez-Flores after getting results. His enthusiasm and passion always made me excited and proud of the experiment outcomes! I want to say thank you to Dr. Jimenez-Flores and to all my lab mates for their help and support. Additionally, I had an amazing support system in my family and friends! Celeste received a master’s degree and was advised by Dr. Rafael Jimenez-Flores.
