We spread any fleeting, unheeding thoughts we may have during the day, reaching people across the globe. “Alex is currently eating a bagel”…  The beauty and potentially the beast of these platforms is their lack of filtration.

  3. Jimenez-Flores joins OSU as JT ‘Stubby’ Parker Endowed Chair

    Dr. Rafael Jimenez-Flores joins the department this spring as the JT ‘Stubby’ Endowed Chair in Dairy Foods.  Prior to Ohio State, Dr. Jimenez-Flores was a Professor of Dairy Science at California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. In addition to teaching and research, he will be reaching out to the dairy industry in Ohio to strengthen the connections to our dairy alumni and to members of the dairy foods industry.

  4. Dr. Bala elected a 2016 IAFoST Fellow

    Dr. Bala Balasubramaniam has been elected a 2016 Fellow of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST). The induction ceremony will be held as a part of IUFOST meeting in Dublin, Ireland this August. IAFoST is a learned society composed of elected Fellows from all parts of the world that serves to promote high standards of ethics and scientific endeavors among food scientists and technologists. It is a source of scientific personnel and information to support international activities related to food science and technology.

  5. Litchfield receives University's Distinguished Service Award

    Congratulations to Adjunct Faculty member Dr. John Litchfield who has been selected to receive the University’s Distinguished Service Award. He will be recognized during the 2016 Summer Commencement. The Distinguished Service Award was established by the Board of Trustees in 1952 to recognize individuals who have rendered exceptional service to the university. Awards are not made on the basis of long, faithful, or loyal service alone, but rather for service that is truly distinguished.

  10. TIC Gums Visits OSU's Food Science Department

    Last week TIC Gums’ senior regional account manager David Audia and technical service representative Amanda Hoffman visited Ohio State University where they received a tour of the Parker Food Science and Technology Building. OSU works with many regional food companies by providing sensory testing and pilot plant runs to assist in product development. “It was great to see the pilot plant and how OSU is integrated within the community,” said Amanda.
