Tatiana Oberyszyn, Ph.D.

Tatiana Oberyszyn received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology at St. John's University, and her doctorate in Microbiology at Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. She came to The Ohio State University as a postdoctoral fellow, and is now an Associate Professor in the Department of Pathology. Dr. Oberyszyn is interested in understanding the function of biological mediators including prostaglandins, cytokines, and reactive oxygen intermediates that play a role in ultraviolet light induced damage to the skin which ultimately leads to the development of skin cancer. She is also interested in the wound healing process, developmental gene expression in the skin, and how it relates to the carcinogenic process.
